After you set up your Ring device (camera, doorbell or Alarm) then you are eligible to purchase a Ring Protect Plan. Before you set up a device you can review what plan would work best for you. A trial of Ring Protect starts immediately when your device is set up unless you have an existing Ring Protect Plus subscription at your location. This way you can use the benefits while you decide what plan is best for you. For Protect Plus, all devices at a location for one user account are covered.
We are here to help! First make sure you have set up a device at your location. If you were not the person that set up the device and you are a shared user on the account, please ask the device owner to login to their account on Ring.com to subscribe.

No. Your Ring products provide their standard features (instant alerts, live view, two-way talk, and so on) without any subscription. Ring Protect Plans simply offer additional features for those who want them.
Yes, you can take your Ring alarm or doorbell devices when you move. If you decide to move, simply unplug your devices and set them up on your new location. You'll only need to update the address linked to the Ring Alarm and can even keep your same subscription, if you have one.
Ring is not only for homeowners. There are several benefits for owning a Ring doorbell or alarm if you are renting. For instance, the Ring Peephole Cam (formerly called Door View Cam) replaces a peephole, if you don’t have one. And your landlord will appreciate not drilling into the door or walls, which in many cases is not suitable. Similarly, if the place you are renting is already equipped with a Ring device, you can easily start a subscription and start enjoying some additional benefits.
Yes. A 30-day trial of Ring Protect Plus begins when you first set up your Ring Doorbell, Camera, or Alarm unless you have an existing Ring Protect Plus subscription at your location. Some retailers may offer special promotions with different trial periods.
With Ring Protect Plus, all Ring devices at one address are covered automatically. If you’re currently using Ring Protect Basic and want your new device covered, you can add another Basic subscription, or upgrade to Ring Protect Plus.
We recommend subscribing to Ring Protect Plus, as it provides assisted monitoring for your Ring Alarm system.
No. You’ll need to subscribe to a separate Ring Protect Plus plan for each address you want to cover.
Yes. All of your Ring products can be viewed and monitored via the Ring mobile app on any mobile phone or tablet, and any PC if you log into Ring.com.
Ring only accepts digital credit or debit card payments and any other payment methods offered through our website ring.com. We do not accept any payments in the form of cash, check, or money order. Any such payments sent to our address will be returned to you, and you will be instructed to subscribe and pay for Ring Protect online. Payments that are mailed to Ring may cause a lapse in your Protect Plan coverage. If you do not subscribe and pay for a Protect Plan online within your 30-day trial period, or prior to the expiration of your existing subscription plan, you will lose your stored video recordings and they will not be retrievable.
Yes! Your free trial subscription begins as soon as you activate your new Ring product unless you have an existing Ring Protect Plus subscription at your location.
Your Ring videos are stored in the cloud for up to 180 days.
Assisted Monitoring is an optional feature of Ring Alarm that notifies your emergency contacts via an automated call when a security issue is detected. This means you'll always be notified of a security issue detected by your Ring Alarm, regardless of where you are and whether or not your cellphone data is turned on. On top of this, trusted family members, friends or neighbors can respond appropriately in the event of a security issue.
After subscribing to Ring Protect Plus you can set up Assisted Monitoring by agreeing to the service’s terms and conditions, and adding emergency contacts via the Ring app. Assisted Monitoring (and a Ring Protect Plus subscription) requires no long-term commitment, and users can easily opt in or out of the service.
1 Extended coverage warranty applies to Ring devices registered to a single location within their original limited warranty period when you subscribe to Ring Protect Plus. Once the original limited warranty expires, the device will be covered under Ring Protect Plus until you discontinue your subscription. Non-Ring and other third-party devices are not eligible for the extended warranty. If you are a consumer, the limited and extended warranties are provided in addition to, and without prejudice to, your consumer rights. Read more about our warranty: https://shop.ring.com/pages/warranty.
2 Your Ring videos that are stored in the cloud are stored temporarily, e.g., up to 180 days in the U.S. Check Ring Protect Subscription Plans for more information about your plan's retention period. To keep important videos beyond 180 days, download them to your PC or mobile device. You can delete videos from your Ring account at any time. Once deleted, videos cannot be restored.
3 Ring takes recurring photo snapshots throughout the day so you can see what is happening between motion-activated events (videos) in your Event History Timeline. These photos are stored in your account for up to 7 days. To keep important photos beyond 7 days, download them to your PC or mobile device.
4 Additional non-Ring charges may apply in areas that require permits or guard response service for alarm verification.
